Finding your reason WHY this January.

Every January people throw themselves into New Year resolutions. Wanting to lose weight, get fitter, change their bodies or start something new. Often it is about chasing a number, whether that is a number on the scales, the size of a dress or chasing a target with their training because they think they should. It becomes a yearly cycle of starting again and trying to fix something, without fully looking into the reasons behind it or finding sustainable ways to make the changes last.


The reality is that none of it really works unless we understand our reason WHY.


When we know WHY we are doing something it stops being an annual resolution and becomes part of our daily life.



It becomes something that feels rooted in what matters to us, it resonates with us , and gives us reason and purpose, rather than something that fades away after a few weeks in January. A number on its own is rarely a meaningful reason why.


Mindset plays a huge part in this. Whenever we want to change habits or change our lifestyle or create new routines we need to be in the right mindset to do it. If the mindset is not there it becomes very hard to continue. Everything feels like a battle. When the mindset is right everything becomes a little easier because we are working with ourselves rather than against ourselves.


Finding our reason WHY is a huge part of this. When we can find our motivator we are far more likely to stick to what we start. Rather than thinking I should do this or I need to do this because everyone else is starting something in January, we can anchor it to something that actually matters. And when something matters it lasts.


So maybe this January is not about resolutions at all. Maybe it is about pausing for a moment and asking, WHY does this matter to me. WHY do I want to feel fitter. WHY do I want more energy. WHY do I want to create a healthier routine. When the WHY becomes clear the rest follows. It stops being a start and stop routine every January and becomes part of a life that feels better every day.
