About Ann & Golf
I've been playing golf for over 30 years and recently made the Portuguese Ladies Senior Team, competing in the European Team Competition in June.

I love that golf can be whatever you want it to be. A fun round with friends, a tournament challenge, time to relax, a reason to travel, a way to get out into nature.

Living in the Algarve, I see a lot of golfers, often in their 50s, 60s and 70s, who love the game but feel stiff, get niggles, or can't get into the swing positions they used to. Tour players spend hours in the gym preparing their bodies. Most of us don't, and then wonder why the body lets us down.

Build a strong, mobile, resilient body and golf becomes something you can play for life. Not just play, but enjoy. With fewer injuries, more freedom in your swing, and better health to show for it.

My approach has evolved over 22 years as a trainer. Paul Chek's work, then yoga, then TPI certification, then various golf certifications since.
The real thing I've learned is that everyone is different. There's no one size fits all.
Golf fitness is more than rotation drills and stability balls. The body has to function on every level.

Strong foundations
Mobility is the base. Strength and power are built on it. As we age, that base is what keeps us swinging pain free. Keeping our bodies strong and mobile are not only great for our golf game, but also for life !

Mind and breath
As well as enabling the body to stay mobile and flexible, the most important part of yoga for golfers I believe is it teaches us to use the breath to stay in the present, to handle pressure and most importantly acceptance.

Fuel for the round
What you eat, and when, can be the difference between an average round and a great one. Keeping our body fueled and hydrated as we play is key to ensure we can perform a well at the end of the round a we did at the beginning.

7 Minute Golf Warm Up
Most of us walk to the first tee, swing a club a few times, and hope for the best.
Here's a 7 minute warm up to do at the range or before you tee off. Loosen the body, lower your injury risk, and swing well from the first hole.

I’ve have been doing Ann’s golf fitness classes for a while now, and I can highly recommend, not only has my golf improved, lost 3 shots off my handicap since I started but my flexibility and strength have really improved, I’m hitting the ball far longer then I ever did!! Plus it’s always good fun whether I’m in class or on line!

"I have to admit I started Golf Fitness at the start of Covid as a way of staying fit. However, I am a social golfer so was more than pleasantly pleased that I was hitting the ball so much further as a result. This I put down to the different core and flexibility exercises that Ann has introduced to everybody taking the class.
In addition I play over 50’s cricket for Dorset and the exercises have helped my batting particularly my timing - am averaging 54 this summer so what more can I say- big thank you Ann"

“.I thought I was fit before working with Ann! In particular my golf has improved with a noticeable improvement in club head speed, Ann is one of the first things I book in when returning to Portugal. Ann has a great way of understanding her clients that allows her to push them that extra 10% which is needed to truly improve”
